New to our site and just learning about Hope & Hearts?
Here is a little about how this event got started and what Blakely's Hope & Hearts Run/Walk is all about...

The first Hope & Hearts Run/Walk was held in Minnesota in 2006. April and Dan Wurst and Candy and Steve McVicar founded Hope & Hearts Run and began hosting the event in honor of their daughters, Kaila and Grace, who were both stillborn due to cord issues at 38 and 33 weeks gestation respectively. Hope and Hearts is about hope for the future through education and research and supporting the hearts of families who have lost to move forward. Help make a difference and join us as we...Run. Walk. Give Families Hope!

       

McKayla and Aaron Lacy joined Missing GRACE Foundation to host the first Hope & Hearts Run in New Mexico in honor of their daughter, Blakely, who was stillborn due to Group B Strep at 38 weeks gestation. They lovingly remember their daughter and want to support other families who have endured the loss of a child and desire to help educate the community in hopes of preventing such a loss for others.

Proceeds from Blakely's Hope & Hearts Run/Walk benefit the Missing GRACE Foundation which provides support and resources locally in New Mexico and nationally to aid individuals as they Grieve, Restore, Arise, Commemorate and Educate. The mission of Missing GRACE Foundation is to provide resources and support to families who have experienced a pregnancy or infant loss, infertility or adoption challenges and to advocate for proper management of pregnancies for all women.

Join us September 24th, 2011 in Clovis, New Mexico for the 2nd Annual Blakely's Hope & Hearts Run/Walk!   Registration will be available in May.

HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED...

RUN or WALK! Consider forming a team for the event; running and walking with friends makes it even more special and fun. Prizes offered for Top Male and Female Finisher and Top Individual and Team Fundraisers.

CREATE YOUR OWN PERSONAL MEMORIAL PAGE/ WEB SITE. Utilize the online service we provide to help reach out to your friends and family, letting them know about your Individual or Team involvement in Hope & Hearts Run and invite them to your personal website. The 2011 event online service site will be available in May.

DONATE. If you are unable to participate or volunteer, you can still support the Foundation with your valuable donation. Help support an individual or team, or make a general contribution.

SPONSOR. Individual and corporate sponsorships help off-set costs of the race and allow us to direct funding to our goal of supporting and educating families and the medical community about pregnancy loss and help with promoting stillbirth prevention.

VOLUNTEER. Hundreds of people donate their time and talents to make this event a success. This includes everything from overall planning, advertising and registration, to posting flyers and much more. Ask your friends and family to join in! HOPE & HEARTS IN YOUR STATE. What better way to honor your baby, than to have a Hope & Hearts Run/Walk right in your own state! Hosting a run not only helps to bring needed resources and support to families across the country who are grieving the loss of a baby, but it also builds awareness of pregnancy and infant loss. Help us bring this great event to YOUR state!
