Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities and Meetings



Below is a list of all our volunteer meeting dates, parades and conference calls leading up to the run, so please mark your calendars and email us which dates will work for you to attend, that you know of at this time. The event this year will be held at Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park on Saturday, September 11th, 2010.

It would be a huge help if you could also please take two minutes to complete the volunteer form so we can assign you to a crew role that you will enjoy. We need help recruiting 150 volunteers to cover this year's event, so please spread the word and personally call or email your friends, co-workers and family to personally ask for them to help.

There is some very exciting news to share... A large office space in Elk River has been donated to Missing GRACE Foundation (MGF) which will be our new National Headquarters and eventually our community center, library, gift shop, and clinic. We need help getting ready so we can move in by the first week of June to the "phase one" portion of our build out. There will be lots of ways to get involved this summer and ongoing, as well as special memorial opportunities.

There are important volunteer work dates coming up to help paint, carpet, tile, tear down walls and demolition areas of the New Office to prep for new configurations of the space/ layout. Email us if you are interested in being involved in this.


2010 Hope and Hearts Run Meeting/Parade Dates:

Mark your calendars, invite others to help and email us which dates work for you to come to the meetings!

June:
* Wednesday, the 9th 6-9pm Hope and Hearts Run Volunteer meeting (at the NEW MGF OFFICE!)
* Monday, the 21st 6-9pm (Save the Date mailing/ card personalization at the MGF OFFICE)
* Sat, the 26th Rockin' Rogers Parade - (Meet in the Rogers Word of Peace parking lot at 11am. Parade starts at 12pm. More info sent out as we get closer.)

July:
* Thursday, the 1st Coon Rapids Parade - (Line up at 4:30pm at our designated parade number, Parade starts at 6pm. More info sent out as we get closer.)
* Monday, the 12th 6-9pm H&H volunteer meeting (at the MGF OFFICE)

August:
* Thursday, the 12th 6-9pm H&H meeting (At the Coon Rapids Dam, Pavilion #3) If bad weather or there are too many schedule conflicts for the 12th, we will meet instead at the Dam on Tuesday, Aug 17)
* Monday, the 30th 6-9pm H&H meeting- (at the MGF Office - prep all T-shirts/ pull all pre-registered shirts and organize by size)

September:
* Friday, the 10th, 6pm meet at Pavilion #3 at the Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park to set up tents
* Saturday, the 11th! The BIG Day!
5AM volunteers meet at Pavilion #3 at the Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park to unload trucks and set up. Event Starts at 7AM.


The FirstGiving start page/ website is all set up and ready for you to start creating your personal memorial/ fundraising pages. Please visit the site and click on "Get Started," or "Create a Personal Fundraising Page, " or "Join a Team" if you are joining someone else's team. Last year more than 80 pages were created and people raised almost $40,000 online though use of the firstgiving site, so please be sure to utilize this great service!
